I'm often asked where I find my stuff. The answer is: thrift stores. I was trained at a very young age to be a devout thrift shopper. My mom used to take me thrift shopping on a weekly basis, scouring our hometown shops for bargains and treasures. At the time, I had no idea I would end up doing it professionally.
These days, I take day trips to small towns in Oregon, rather than shopping in Portland. I also pick up items when I'm touring with my band, The Stolen Sweets (most recently in Canada, Washington and Eastern Oregon). I enjoy these little adventures, and love bringing things back from small towns to my customers in Portland.
I do not typically buy items from individuals or consign items in my store (with a few exceptions like locally-made jewelry). I find that I can keep my prices low if I do all of my own shopping. I aim to buy things that are inexpensive so I don't have to inflate my prices in order to make a reasonable profit.
I post new acquisitions on the Lodekka Facebook page every week. Please "like" the shop so you can see the types of items I carry and hear all the latest news! You can also view and purchase some of my favorite items by visiting Lodekka's Etsy store.
